sewing for beginners

From students who’ve never switched on a sewing machine to those who haven’t sewn since school, our friendly evening sewing classes are a friendly mix of newbie and novice sewers and students wanting to boost their sewing confidence.

Each student has a slightly different starting point, and thanks to our small classes, we can guarantee you plenty of time with the tutor so that you can build your skills and your confidence.

We have mixed ability sewing classes where those new to sewing will be welcomed and nurtured or from January 2022 we have a brand new Beginners Sewing Class starting on Wednesday evenings 7.30-9.30pm where beginners will be grouped together.

Not sure if you’re not ready for our mixed ability sewing classes or the beginners classes – let me reassure you! Our classes are small with no more than 8 students which means that your sewing tutor will be able to give you plenty of support with your chosen sewing project. That might be refreshing your sewing skills and giving you a confidence boost. We’re proud of our friendly classes, it’s a space where everyone is welcome and supported, so which class you choose may well come down to when you are free.
